Nicki Cameron

Nikki and her husband own Auto Mechanical & Electrical and Uzit Hire. She grew up in Kawerau and has lived in Whakatāne for the past 24 years.

We've got 3 teenagers, a couple of cats and some free-range chickens which we've trained to look after themselves, allowing me time to get out for a run a couple of times a week. Heading away with friends and family in our caravan, finding bush walks and swimming holes is when I'm at my happiest.

My friends would say I'm pretty fearless having done multiple marathons and the OXFAM trailwalkers event but Dancing for Life Education is definitely putting my bravery to the test!

David Owen

Well-known Chiropractor David Owen is the next dancer to put his hat in the ring!

After a prolonged OE, my beautiful wife Daryl and I returned to NZ with our two wonderful kids Cerian and John. We drove all around before we found paradise here in Whakatāne. We set up Koru Chiropractic Clinic and we have been privileged to treat thousands of clients from around the district ever since. Among these have been previous contestants for Dancing for Life Education EBOP so I thought it was time I stepped up and gave it a go.

I am passionate about people moving well and moving often and see daily the effects of stress and less healthy lifestyle choices on people of all ages. This is why I admire the work of the Life Education Trust EBOP as it helps to promote healthy, resilient children who will grow into healthy, well-adjusted adults.

David & Nikki will be dancing the Quickstep. The Quickstep is a light-hearted dance of the standard ballroom dances. The movement of the dance is fast and powerfully flowing and sprinkled with synopations. Danced to upbeat melodies.
